Archiving / Digitization
How do we preserve information pertaining to recent times in a sustainable, easily accessible format?Imagine the copy of today’s paper when Barack Obama won the presidential election, the magazine spread on Bernard Madoff’s successful career in the 1980’s or the book written 50 years ago that has collected dust on the shelf… Not only is it in the public’s interest to preserve your publications over time; it is also in your interest for continuous monetization via preservation. Visiolink has created digital online archives for state libraries, newspapers, universities, and many more with the need for legacy preservation. We have scanned up to 200 years of daily histories, articles, paintings, drawings – giving us the edge when it comes to handling both large and small scale projects.
Any Visiolink E-publish solution comes standard with 3 months of automatic archiving, but we can enable as much archiving as needed – regardless of your source.
Common sources include:
| Microfilm | |
| Physical paper editions | |
| Old scanning formats | |
| Various image formats (.jpg, .bmp, .gif) |
All of the above are processed using Visiolink unique text recognition tool allowing indexation for future search. The user will then have the option to search deeply to individual word levels in all scanned material.
Imagine being able to search for: ‘GDP Growth’ in 100 years worth of newspaper material?
This provides excellent opportunities for universities, research firms, and everyone interested in history.
